Outside of research, I am passionate about education, movement, and entrepreneurship. I am also an advocate for underrepresented communities in STEM. Here is a selected list of my services and community involvements, where I met lots of awesome people.

Women in Machine Learning

I served as the Secretary Board of Directors at Women in Machine Learning (WiML), a non-profit organization that supports machine learning researchers and practitioners who identify as women. The annual WiML Workshop, co-located with the NeurIPS conference, is our flagship event. WiML also provides great resources, and mentorships, and holds various events at many ML conferences.

Women in Data Science Taipei (& Taiwanese in Data Science)

Passionate about data science, I founded Women in Data Science (WiDS) Taipei in 2017 and organized the annual conference from 2018 to 2020. WiDS Taipei has now grown from an annual conference to a new community called Taiwanese in Data Science (TWiDS).

I also help organize the WiDS Berkeley conference in 2020 and 2021 at UC Berkeley.

Delta Analytics

At Delta Analytics, teaching fellows build, code, and teach a curriculum that makes machine learning tools and knowledge more accessible to communities around the world. I met cool data scientists, educators, and researchers at Delta as a teaching fellow and also learn so much about how to become a better educator. In 2020, we piloted the Global Teaching Fellowship program and I served as a mentor for our global fellows.

Coding & Co-working Club

Together with some amazing friends, I co-organized the Coding & Co-working Club (ccClub).

ccClub offers free coding courses and study groups for those who are interested in learning Python and its applications regardless of background. I was one of the lead content developers and instructors at ccClub from 2017 to 2018.

At Dorm Room Fund, I helped build cool tools and support student founders at the Dorm Room Fund HQ team.

Built by students and powered by First Round Capital, Dorm Room Fund provides student founders with a strong network of investors, world-class mentors, and a $20,000 check.

NTU Modern Dance

I had a great time at National Taiwan University Modern Dance Club. I was as a dancer for 4 years and served as the president from 2013-2014. During my tenure, I organized the dance exhibition for NTU Art Festival, hosted various workshops for our club, and invited Hsiao-Ting Hsieh, dancer, and choreographer from Martha Graham Dance Company, to give a 5-day workshop.
